#SoCS: Something to celebrate!

Hey there!

It’s been a bit since I’ve been here. Life was life-ing pretty strenuously. I don’t really have the time yet to go into all the details now – but here’s a paragraph from my NaNoWriMo novel-in-progress, Kifo Island: Homecoming. It’s a short and perhaps sweet post for me today.

Kelsey had to concentrate not to rush through her meal, but she wanted to be calm when she went back to her laptop. She wasn’t going to set herself up for panic and devastation if she didn’t have something to celebrate when she went back for a closer look at that listing. No, she was going to eat at a comfortable pace, sip some of her coffee, and only then head back to her room to check on things. Shoveling cereal into her mouth and dripping milk down her chin, was, as Mrs. Pritchart would have said, undignified, no matter how badly she needed a job.
