#SoCS   Scramble and Amble Through the Brambles….

Ever have one of those weeks where it feels like you’re constantly pushing through a tangle of prickly bushes to get much of anything done?

That’s this week, for me.

Yet, when I look back on it, I’ve gotten some good stuff done:

  • I posted a major blog post for a client.
  • We’ve never done one like this before, so it’s an expansion for her and was a learning experience for me.
  • I researched, outlined, and drafted another post.
  • I updated an older post and did her social media.
  • I attended online calls through my biz coaching group program.
  • I finished JuNoWriMo.
  • I posted a fanfiction story six days this week.
  • I engaged in online activism on issues that are important to me.
  • I worked on my business.
  • I tended my home, my family, and myself.
A rambling amble through Saratoga National Historical park, five years ago.

There were other things here – some of the most important parts of life run beneath language. Moments of connection with my grown son and almost-grown younger child. Errands. Revelations. Sleep. Good food, and a great hug from the friend who delivers the mealshare every week.

So… maybe the brambles are just in my mind. Maybe I’m impatient for this time of growth, and all the discomfort that goes with it, to settle into something I can become more familiar with….

Maybe I think I should be Superwoman, capable of doing all the things I want when I want, regardless of the limits of mind, body, and reality (this probably isn’t a maybe; I have a great capacity to do this to myself, and being aware of it isn’t the same as being able to short-circuit the tendency…

So maybe I’ve been forcing myself to scramble through the brambles, when I could have just been ambling through my week…
