And We Begin Again: R2Y7 Goals

Hey there!

It feels like it’s been ages since I stopped by to chat. I kind of fell off the radar at the end of last round.

I needed the break. Round One held surprises, both pleasant and not so much, that took a lot of time, attention, and energy I hadn’t expected. I didn’t really adjust my expectations accordingly, and finally ran out of steam.

But now the Endless Plumbing Saga has finally ended, and we are no longer a band of nomadic showerers. I’ve had a couple of months to get used to my new freelance gig writing articles covering local town and village board meetings. And, maybe most importantly, I’ve recharged.

I’ve also looked at my goals for Round One/12 Week Year 6 and discovered another problem there. None of my goals were SMART enough to be easily quantified. That made them harder to pursue.

I think I’ve corrected that mistake this round. I’ll be completing the entire 12 Week Year goalsetting process during the first weeks of the round, so I can adapt on the fly if I find areas that still need improvement.

What follows are my base goals. On Wednesday, I’ll share my as-yet still in development Week One Action Plan, with a single actionable step for each of these goals. I’ll be including my scores in every update, as well. These make it clear where I’m succeeding, and where I need more work.

If you are ROWing this round, I wish you the best as you engage with your goals!
