Building to a Conclusion: February 22, 2017

Hey there!

Wow! I know February is the shortest month, but somehow I’m still finding hard to believe we’ve already reached the final week of it….whooosh!

With less than a week left, I’ve got a better sense of what I can finish this month, and, maybe more importantly, what I want to focus on. There are some changes in this update, and there may be more on Sunday, as I further refine for the last few days.

Do you adjust your goals frequently to reflect life’s shifts, or are you more likely to stay the course?

And now, back on the ROW80 blog, too!

  1. Yay for finishing The Far Shore!! That’s great. And more progress on the other areas too!

I try to see things out, but sometimes you have to know when to shift things around. Which I’ve done myself this week. I thought about waiting until next month for that shift, but I felt now worked better.

    • I’ve fallen into a pattern of doing what feels right for the day. Right now, the kids are more nocturnal, my Accomplice is going to bed much earlier now that he works mornings rather than evenings, and I’m somewhere in the middle. So I’ve got a few hours during which I’m up and the kids aren’t (both went to bed a bit before 11am). I can use those for cleaning and stuff that needs more of my concentration. It’s not that the kids are demanding, or need a lot from me at their ages, but, when they want to spend time with me, I don’t want to be rushing them so I can get back to my writing. They’re so close to grown, and these last years seem to be flying by…

I think there’s a lot to be said for going with what feels right. I’m glad the shift worked for you. Last night, I did a lot of setup for my A-Z posts, so I’m feeling much better about that goal. And I’ve just read your chapter, so I can let it simmer while I go work out and do the shopping. When I get home, I’ll probably mostly want to relax, so I can focus on beta’ing then.

I have one more “hanging” novel, from my Trueborn fantasy series, left to finish next month. 10 scenes. Need to reread it before the end of this month, but, if I can get it finished, I’ll start April with a clean novel slate. That will be refreshing! =)

Take a chance! Type something in this box, and see what happens! =D
