Building in the Snow: February 12, 2017

Hey there!

I’ve been busy! Along with the progress you can see here, there’s more – ideas and epiphanies falling like the snowflakes outside! It’s a warm fuzzy kind of feeling on a stormy Sunday, and I love it…

How has your week been?


  • Kifo Island: Write 5,000 words/week The Far Shore (KIC #6), until complete. Primary goal. Scene 22/24 in progress. 5,268/5,000 words; 62,517/~65,000 total (Scrivener count).

  • Patreon Posts Complete February and March offerings. Secondary goal. And simmering. I feel a surge working its way to the surface…A Tingly Now!

  • #atozchallenge: Write theme reveal post. Tertiary goal. Epiphany: I know the title, and the structure is coming together.

  • Fan Fiction: Draft one new chapter each for “Cowled” and Love and Loss. Side goal. Simmering…getting close to drafting.


  • Rose and Jeremy novella: Complete Planning/plotting of “Tuesday Afternoon Tea” using The Story Toolkit and existing notes. Develop one-paragraph sketches for remaining 3-5 stories. Primary goal. Subplot Arc 1/ 2: page 4/7 in progress. Overall: step 10/22 in progress.


  • The IDIC Romance: Progress with revisions for On Any Tuesday Night (was First Contact, With Jazz), as I work through lessons 2-5 of Holly Lisle’s Revision Course. Continue revisions for A Backdrop of Stars  1-7; Revise January Chapters of “Arachnid Nebula” and “A Beagle’s Bedside Manner”; 1 chapter each. Primary goal. Opened ABOS Chapter Two for revisions; epiphany on POV in progress! January 2017 sections of Arachnid and Beagle reread. OATN: Completed Character Re-Focus worksheets for Lesson 2. Some organization completed. Rereading lesson materials for the Promises Worksheets.

  • Kifo Island: Sea Changes: Continue rough revision for crit group; scenes 7-10. Tertiary goal. Read Scene 7 aloud into voice recorder; listened to it while doing cardio; simmering for revisions.


  • Blog Hops: #Loveuary : Write a daily drabble focused on the next chapters of Love and Loss, using a prompt pool from my fans ; visit other posters as I can. #atozchallenge: Sign up for the challenge and complete any loose ends and unfinished businessby the end of the month, all posts should be finished and scheduled (to both website and blog). Primary goal. #Loveuary Drabbles: 11/28 complete.

  • Blogging Features: Continue biweekly Mindful Monday posts, as well as weekly #SoCS, #8sunday, WIPpet Wednesday, and #weekendcoffeeshare posts. Add biweekly SkyWatch Friday posts. Develop rough schedule to pre-produce April posts. Jotted a journal entry upon which I based my #weekendcoffeeshare (and then forgot to finish and post it- oops!). Simmering Mindful Monday post; #SoCS and #8sunday posted. Skywatch in progress for next Friday. I have an idea how to approach the pre-April planning; one which might carry me through my annual Creative Marathon (April/July), and its 5K Buddy (September/November).


  • Homeschool Administration: Draft second quarter reports, due March 15. Create Flickr portfolios for this school year. Primary goal. Lise ELA/Math complete: 2/14.

  • Resets/reorganizations: study, family room, and kitchen. Complete three 27 thing flings each room, each week. Bedroom, living room, and bathroom: two 27 thing fling each room each week. 29 General Hometending rounds weekly. Secondary goal. All rooms to par; General: 37/29!
  • Photo digitalization: Scan 27 travel photos per week. Side goal. 30/27. Still owe a week.


  • My beloveds: One on one time with each, doing something of value to us both, each week. Primary goal. 1984 Radio broadcast and Evolution; canoodling, couples’ workout/lunch; 70s movies; conversation and YouTube.

  • NNWM local group: Interact regularly, in person and online; participate actively in critique group. Tertiary goal. Attended write-in. Completed crit 1/3 in the queue and submitted.


  • Journal six mornings and three evenings each week. Meditate five mornings and two evenings weekly. Primary goal. Morning: 7/6 journal; 7/5 meditation. Evening: 3/3 journal; 2/2 meditation, and an epiphany – maybe two!

  • Get a cumulative total of at least 90 minutes moderate physical activity 6 days weekly; 99 minutes twice weekly, and 8 hours of more strenuous activities (tai chi, swimming, hiking, cardio, weights, etc.). Secondary goal. 90 minutes: 7/6; 99 minutes: 5/2; Strenuous: 2.75/8 hours; cardio and weights.

  • Smart Change: Reread early chapters/worksheets; create an approach plan. Side goal. Skimmed Chapter One; Reread Chapter Two; downloaded worksheets from site.

Leaps of Faith:

  • Reading: Finish listening to Alexander Hamilton audiobook  and one more; read two other books; write four reviews. .Audiobook: 1984 radio broadcast with my son, 15.

  1. Looks like you’ve made a lot of progress! And getting close to your goal on The Far Shore. That’s great!!

    We were supposed to get 6-10 inches of snow last night. We *might* have gotten 4.

  2. Looks like you’ve gotten a lot done! Yay!

    We haven’t had a lot of snow this year so far — of course now I just jinxed us — and while I’m happy not to worry about trying to get to work in it or the cold, it’s been kind of weird.
