Building a Writing Structure: My 2017 ROW80 Goals

Hey there!

It’s time to get started with a new year’s worth of goals….

I like aspirations more than resolutions.

Maybe it’s that resolutions tend to be grounded-feeling, whereas aspirations make me feel more like this:

I like that feeling better. It feels more like growth, reaching, attaining new heights. By comparison, resolutions feel like gritted teeth, willpower, dogged determination, that old butt-in-chair-hands-on-keyboard adage.

I don’t work well like that. Truthfully, writing is joyful play to me, a journey of discovery. I give myself to it wholly and happily, and that’s what I want. I don’t like the way my writing works, or the person I am when I get into that frame of mind.

So here are my aspirations, listed out for the year. They may change as the year progresses, and I move through it, learning, growing, and writing…building joyfully to my dreams.

What are your aspirations for the year?

  • Develop rhythms for blogging during routine and intensive writing months. Maintain and fine-tine throughout the year.

  • Synchronize blog and website; brand together; create pages for site; expand visibility.

  • Complete all 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 homeschool paperwork and required testing; assess to see when Jeremiah completes high school requirements.
