The Prosperity Principle: December 28, 2016

Hey there!

Welcome to my second ROW80 Interlude Post. I’m moving along; focusing on just a thing or two at a time rather than the wide-angle. I’m reasonably sure I won’t finish everything on my list, but I will wrap up a couple more, and move others closer to the completion point.

In the space between a quiet family Christmas and the new year, I’m enjoying this combination of finishing up existing goals within my grasp, and, at the same time, reaching a little higher as I move through the process of setting goals and objectives for 2017.

It’s a kind of prosperity, this time…prosperity I’m creating myself.

I added a few words to The Far Shore, so I thought I’d give you a little taste…

Holding her imagined actions in mind, Ubunta began reaching and digging her way down through the rocks. It was going to take longer than she’d thought, but she was succeeding, and she was tucked in under the boardwalk that ran above.

  1. Love this energetic and detailed progress report. I still am struggling a bit with the switch to FB, but I’m OK if I hold to that Weds check-in. Your notes here inspire me to work on making my goals more specific. Happy end-of-the-year and may your writing and all else go well in 2017.

    • I’ve found that goal-setting is an ever-evolving practice.

Doing one check in a week sounds like a good plan, if the FB interface is throwing you off.

I always seem to think I can do more than I actually can in any given time frame, but I’m at least learning to accept that, and I can hope that that’s the first step toward being more realistic in that regard.

A lot of my goals are mutli-step, so it helps me to itemize. Even if I don’t finish the goal by the end of the month, I can see that I’ve made concrete progress toward it, and that helps to keep me motivated. Often, there’s a “tipping point” where I can see the way to the end, so I set other things to the side and focus on that. This may be about to happen with one of my fan fiction stories and the A-Z posts, because I’m getting close with both of those, and might be able to finish before the month is through.

Doesn’t hurt that it’s snowy today, and I may cancel the plans I had for this evening.

Take a chance! Type something in this box, and see what happens! =D
