The Proof is in the Doing: May 11, 2016

Hey there, ROWers and others!

That’s right. Talking about something is just that- talk. The proof is in the doing, the moving toward a goal, even if it’s scary.

Which is why I find myself creating a website, and contemplating other leaps of faith…Stay tuned for details and proof!

So, what proof are you creating?

  • Story a Day May (#StaD): Write 30 stories in the Kifo Island world and one fan fiction story; using prompts from the ebook and guests. These will be development for June and July drafting projects. 10/30 Kifo stories completed.

  • The IDIC Romance: Complete plot/pinch points for 26 stories Boldly Go stories V-Z. Carrying over from April.

  • Star Trek Enterprise: Watch episodes/ clips, and/or read transcripts needed to complete Boldly Go stories.

  • Plan Story A Day May Kifo Island stories. (Xavier/Yvette/Zeke is Tsunamis; Ubunta/Quincette/Theresa is The Far Shore.) 24/31.(Changed one POV character.)

  • Kifo Island: Plot either Tsunamis (Xavier/Yvette/Zeke) or The Far Shore (Quincette/Ubunta/Theresa) as my JuNoWriMo project, using The Writer’s Coloring Book. Simmering while planning May stories. Plotting will start once the #STaD planning complete.

  • Continue plotting stories in my various The IDIC Romance story arcs. Purchase new Aeon Timeline program, and continue using it as an aid to this process. Planning/revision notes for Vulcan Troubles.

  • Complete revisions for “Peach Liqueur Love”, using Sarah Selecky’s Deep Revision process. Still stalled on Step 2/5. Time to move this along.

  • Kifo Island: Print Sea Changes; Readthrough aloud (record and listen). Printed through page 208, where printer jammed.

  • The IDIC Romance: Revise/organize all Boldly Go stories at Organize Scrivener files by arc. Continue revising new additions to the Love and Loss and A Backdrop of Stars, as well as “First Contact, With Jazz”; “Mission Accomplished”; and “Scavenger Hunt”. Revising Vulcan Troubles as I write; it had serious issues. Reread next “ABOS” for revision.

    • It was a good session. I like to have those times where I get a few new things started, move several along, and even manage to wrap up one or two!

Looking to excise even more of that red by the next update! =)

    • So far, it’s been more fun than annoyance. I intend to just do the basics, to start with, and launch it quietly and without a lot of fanfare (although I will announce it here, so folks can look and offer feedback if they’d like.)

It helps that I’m rather prone to preferring to let things evolve organically, over time – there’s a reason I use Lovely Chaos as my brand! =D

  1. This ” (record and listen). ” is a brilliant idea. I might give it a whirl at some point but first I have to get over the fact I dislike the sound of my own voice and I usually don’t do well with audio books. My mind tends to wander to other things if my eyes aren’t engaged as well.

    • I’m OK with my voice. I sing a lot. I’ve heard it enough in recordings to not freak out. I’ve got a bit of a lisp, especially when I’m conscious of it, but no one is perfect.

I know what you mean about the mind wandering. I don’t listen to many audiobooks, but this will let me hear the novel and get an impression.

    • It will quietly appear when it does, kind of like the lilacs in the front yard. Once it’s up, you can watch it evolve organically. I’m excited to see were it’s headed, myself!

Take a chance! Type something in this box, and see what happens! =D
