It’s the weekly hop for everyone who loves to write! We’ve got a variety of genres amd talented writers just waiting for you to come sample their wordy wares. Come read one, or all, or pick a few like wildflowers or sweet berries….

And, if you’re inclined to share your own 8-10 sentence snippet, follow the link and sign up. It’s a great community to be a part of! =D

This week, I offer you the nine-sentence installment #7 in my serialized Star Trek: Enterprise flash fan fiction story, “Mission Accomplished”. We begin right where last week’s snippet, “Something Totally Unrelated” ended.

With a mystery to solve, T’Pol’s fingertips might just be getting the better of them both…

This Damned Mystery

Trip sighed, getting up without pulling his fingers away from hers, and she went with him to look out at the streaking stars. T’Pol’s fingertips quivered against his, and he felt his engines’ happy hum. For once, everything was going smoothly – except for this damned mystery.

She slipped between him and the window, and caught him up in a web of kisses that tasted like mint tea and desire. Her fingers slipped into first pose, circling his, then returning, and her quiver was stronger now. More minerals in her scent, too.

“Hey, pepperpot- we’ve got a mystery to solve -“

I’ve solved it.” The fingers of her other hand cradled his face, played with his ears – and they were trembling, too.

Has T’Pol really solved the mystery?

Will Trip accept her ‘solution’?

Will they go where T’Pol’s fingertips lead them?

Will the Captain be satisfied with the results of their ‘team-building exercises’?

Will they?

Come on back next week to find out!

Need to read back? Here’s all of “Mission Accomplished” that’s been posted, thus far:

Challenges like Story A Day September encourage me to think outside of my own experience. Fitting all the prompts into my fan fiction universe, ups the ante.

Of course, I also get to play with Trip and T’Pol! =D

And, now, the obligatory disclaimer:

Trip, T’Pol, and Trek: None of these are mine. Can I help it if these two unlikely lovers keep insisting I tell their stories? =)

Have you ever finished a book, movie, or series, and thought there was more to the story? Have you ever tried to write it? If so, how did it turn out? If not, why not?
