Playful Preparation: ROW80 Update, 3/23/14

Why, hello there!

Well, here we are, at the second-to-last update of the round. It seems like we just started – but, no, that’s the first hints of spring playing tag with the patches of snow left over from a memorably wintry winter.

Yes, we may get more snow next week, but the air and ground are softening. Robins and rabbits are frolicking in our yard, the ducks and geese are back at the local pond.

The cold can’t grip us as it has the most of the winter…

And yes, it means that the first round must be nearly done.

I’ll be posting my end of round evaluation on Wednesday, and an interim plan on Sunday (I like to keep the rhythm of these twice-weekly updates…and, although I do tend to relax during breaks, I don’t stop writing altogether – it’s too much fun).

But, for now, we’re still in Round 1, so let’s get on with it.

My main focus areas :

  • Revising Chameleon’s Dish;

  • Preparing for April and May’s intensive writing projects.

  • Continuing with home embetterment.

  • Continuing with life embiggening.

  • Preparation for ROW80 Round 2.

Something brand new….Pandora’s box, perhaps?

    • Thanks, Steph!

I think setting goals for the entire year has helped me tremendously, this round. I have a better idea of my trajectory, and it’s helped me to prioritize, and to set smaller goals that help me along – and there’s been time for play, and Simply Being. Those are hugely important to me. What good is all this writing if my kids can’t get a long talk or a snuggle, and I can’t stop sometimes to feed my soul or canoodle with my spouse, or if I half-kill myself tripping in in overly cluttered house? =)

I will definitely be here for Round 2. Playing around with my intentions, here and there. Some continuations, some new things, lots of juicy things to sink my fangs into!

      • I used to think “balance” was synonymous with “compromise.” I’ve gotten older and learned better. My “babies” are 29, 25, and 24, and I still wish I hadn’t cut Snuggle Time short. Glad I’m close to (emotionally though not physically) all three.

All the best as you zero in on your goals for the next round. See ya there!

        • Steph,

My kids are growing up so fast. I know everyone says that…but we’re talking inches, and maturity, here. My days of snuggling ahead are fewer than the days of snuggling behind, it seems. And I wasted some years, there, at the beginning…

These days, “balance” means that I’m enjoying these years – the times when they still need the physical comfort of Mommy, the ones where they want the company of Mom…and the times when they’ve got their own stuff going on, and I can delve into mine…

If I had to choose between physical or emotional closeness, when they’re grown; I’ll happily take the second! =D

I’m starting to get the feel for what my intentions will be. See you Sunday, with the reveal! =D

  1. Love the photos. I’m eagerly awaiting spring’s arrival. (I feel like I’ve said that 100 times today, but I swear I’ve meant it every time.) 🙂

Have a great week, Shan Jeniah! Good luck with these last few days of ROW80 Round 1.

I also saw that we’d both signed up to sponsor the next round. Woot!

    • Fallon,

This round, I set goals for the whole year. That helps, because those I haven’t gotten to yet can still happen-there’s a lot of year left, after all. I tend to ave a different focus and energy for every season, so the things that weren’t right for Round 1 could be perfect for Round 3.

It has been a productive session – and a lot of fun! =)

Take a chance! Type something in this box, and see what happens! =D
